St. Johnston & Carrigans FRC offer a wide range of community education programmes in response to locally identified needs.
We are a certified Centre for Learning with the standard required for delivery of 3rd level courses in conjunction with Letterkenny Institute of Technology
Awarded an Aontas Star Award in 2009 for a mens minibus driving course which has targeted at men who were unemployed, underemployed or had left school early with no formal qualifications. The Accelerate programme offered Fetac level 3 in English, Maths, Basic Computers, Personal Effectiveness, Safepass, Occupational First Aid, Manual Handling, Midas, Pasrs and Meeks which are now compulsory requirements for a Minibus Driving Licence
We also work with the local social services committee to deliver a meals on wheels service to people who are confined to their home and isolated through age or disability
In 2006 St. Johnston & Carrigans FRC were awarded the Excellence through People FÁS award for their commitment to training and education in the workplace
